Creating artistic experiences that ignite imaginations.

Inspired by Shakespeare’s famous quote “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” Artists By Any Other Name defies definition.  We are an interdisciplinary ensemble that endeavors to realize a contemporary function for classical music by encouraging its symbiosis with contemporary dance.  Through live performance in a variety of spaces, we communicate relevant themes to illustrate the worlds around and within us. We connect with an inter-generational audience by crafting unique programs that range from children's concerts, impressionist to avant-garde performances.

Artists By Any Other Name performs several full length shows each year.  Our dedication to bringing art, and specifically classical music, to small and welcoming venues draws the audience closer, making them a part of the performance.

Children's productions

We produce 45 minute concerts developed specifically for children. Many of our artist members are passionate educators, excited to help kids engage with our art. Our children’s production for 2019 is The Planetarium, commemorating the first moon landing 50 years ago and inspired by Roman Mythology and characteristics of the solar system. Artists By Any Other Name is the ensemble in residence for Young Artist Exchange where our musicians and dancers will be teaching workshops and leading the students in a student-faculty public performance.

Artists By Any Other Name is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Artists By Any Other Name must be made payable to "Fractured Atlas" only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about fiscal sponsorship or donation.
